Something to Share Dress for Success

DRESS FOR SUCCESS STAR-STUDDED GALA DRAWS CELEBRITIES AND THEIR MOMS

Debbie Phelps, Mother of Michael Phelps, Linda Armstrong Kelly, Mother of Lance Armstrong, Cosmetics Giant Bobbi Brown and Tommy Hilfiger were Among Celebrated Attendees

Dress for Success, an international non-profit organization that helps disadvantaged women achieve economic independence, hosted the Something To Share: Dress for Success Worldwide Gala 2009 this evening at the Grand Hyatt in New York City. The event, which attracted 1,000 attendees, raised more than $1.1 million to enhance and expand its suiting and employment retention programs.

The Something To Share Gala was a night of celebration for the organization’s past achievements and future endeavors. The event, chaired by Doug Checkeris, Chief Executive Officer of MediaCom North America, honored several top corporate executives for their professional accomplishments and contributions to Dress for Success. This year’s honorees include Timothy Proctor, General Counsel, Diageo; Eileen Brumback, GE; and Karen Scollick, VP Behavioral Sciences, GSK Consumer Healthcare.

“Our gala was a memorable event as it showcased all the remarkable stories, people, and hope that Dress for Success embodies,” said Joi Gordon, Chief Executive Officer of Dress for Success Worldwide. “We truly appreciate the support of al the corporations and individuals who attended and made this evening a great success.”

The gala’s presenting sponsors included alli, Diageo, FedEx Corporation, GE, and Sullivan & Cromwell LLP. Platinum sponsors were Allergan, Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, dressbarn, Gap, Hunton & Williams, McDermott Will & Emery, MediaCom, Morgan Lewis, Ogilvy, Props for Today, and Slaughter and May.
