Hearts 4 Haiti

On Wednesday, January 27, 2010, a diverse group of Chicago's young professionals gathered together to raise funds and supplies for Haiti and celebrate the cultural contributions of Haiti through its music and art.

The HEARTS 4 HAITI Global Initiative leadership team was comprised of young professionals who wanted to provide immediate support to Haitians who have been affected by the massive earthquake that took place on January 12th, 2010.

HEARTS 4 HAITI Global Initiative partnered with two organizations: Doctors Without Borders and International Child Care. 100% of monetary proceeds generated from HEARTS 4 HAITI Global Initiative, were donated with a designation to the Haiti Earthquake Relief Effort.

HEARTS 4 HAITI Global Initiative's entertainment was provided by renowned DJs Joe Kollage, Cori Vicious, Steve Bravo, the "Heavy Hitter" DJ Timbuk2, and DJ 331/3 and hosted by Tone and Shag of Power 92.3 FM. DJ Mack spun a special Haitian music set featuring Konpa & Zouk.

In addition to fantastic music there were several presentations throughout the evening including a heartfelt speech by Haitian native Senator Kwame Raoul. Senator Raouls' warming speech highlighted the importance of the continued support of the island of Haiti and a brief overview of its people and history.

Among those in attendance were US State Senator Rickey Hendon, Senator Kwame Raoul, Kenny Johnson - Rumba Owner, Jerry Azumah- former Chicago Bears player and founder of the ASAP Foundation.
